With the college admissions scandal all over the news, we wanted to respond as members of the vast majority of the college counseling world that work with families honestly and ethically.
It's incredibly upsetting that people would manipulate the college admission system in this way, and every industry seems to have a very small number of folks who cheat and do things the wrong way. The scandal also speaks to how much pressure and anxiety parents and families feel with the process, and just how far some will go to get into a "name-brand" school.
We at College Inside Track are passionate about helping our families navigate the complicated college process and doing so in an ethical manner.
Our college counseling philosophy couldn't be more different than what we are hearing about on the news. We believe college is a match to be made, not a prize to be won, and that there is no such thing as a best ranked college, only a best fit. In fact, in addition to the disgust we felt, one of our first reactions after hearing the news was "Are those schools even a fit for those students?"
We approach the college process so differently, and are grateful for the opportunity to share that with you. Thank you for being a part of our CIT family, and if you have any questions about the recent news, we welcome hearing from you!
