Congratulations to Ashley Minder!
Ashley, a senior at Perkiomen Valley High School in Collegeville, PA, is excited to be heading to Penn State University, where she will pursue a Bachelor of Science on the pre-med track.
From the very beginning of her college search, Ashley approached the process with a sense of curiosity and openness that truly set the tone for a successful journey. She was willing to explore a wide range of academic interests, taking the time to reflect on what excited her and where she could see herself growing both academically and personally. Her thoughtful approach allowed her to build a college list that reflected not just her strengths, but her evolving interests as well.
A key part of Ashley’s process was visiting campuses. With her family fully invested in the experience, they made it a priority to tour a variety of schools—both those at the top of her list and others she was simply curious about. Each visit helped Ashley better understand what she was looking for in a college environment. And sometimes, clarity comes quickly—Penn State was one of the first schools she visited, and from that moment on, she could truly picture herself there.
As her parents shared, it has been incredibly meaningful to watch Ashley take ownership of her search and stay focused on finding the best fit for her. Her hard work throughout high school, combined with her thoughtful approach to the process, has paid off in a way that makes this decision feel both exciting and well-earned.
Ashley chose Penn State not only for its beautiful campus, but also for its wide range of academic opportunities and the ability to explore different areas of interest within her pre-med path. She is especially excited about the vibrant campus life—meeting new people, attending sporting events, joining clubs, and building lifelong friendships. Like many students beginning this next chapter, she’s also looking forward to the independence of college life, starting with moving into her dorm and making it her own space.
